Farmers Daughter Covers

Jagged Little Pill  Ironic  Medley

This derivative of the Farmers Daughter was actually at the very beginning of the group. It first started out with the name Street Jam, but after a few gigs Pearl Jam came out, so we changed it to The Farmers Daughter.

Farmers Daughter Cover Band: This version of the band, was a last ditch effort to keep the band Rollin’ and rockin’. After a few years of writing and recording, and going through a barrel full of guitar players, the line up stood strong with Althea Rose on vocals, Deni Stevens on guitar, Pat Juedy, a world class bass player (always said that Pat made a drummers job easy). He was always ready for the next call, whatever it would be, we were then a cover band, with so many years experience, and we probably knew a few hundred songs. So, to call a song at the spur of the moment wasn’t uncommon. Having Pat right there, all the time, made segues a very natural experience. And, we most likely played them more than the artists' themselves. Well at least I did, I worked in many cover bands through the years. My theory on that is, I’d rather be playing covers, than not playing at all.

Sometimes as an original band, that is what happens. If you work more than a few nights a month, that’s a lot of showcasing. We did, but we also had to pay the bills, so working as a cover band made some sense.

Deni and I were really good friends. We originally met, working for David Tee. Back in the day, the circuit was a tight knit family, and when a player was need ed for a band he didn’t normally work with, it was never a problem to just sit in and work the night. The David Tee band was just that kind of band. Other than Dave and his brother, the band was a revolving door. A small network of real good players. Anyway, I got the call one night, geared up and went to work. It was my first gig with David Tee, and Deni was the guitarist, for the night anyway. After that night, Deni was introduced to the other members of the Farmers Daughter, and was a permanent member in no time. We were only concerned with Deni for the recordings. He had a phat sound, man. He could really rip.

After the record deal thing fell apart, members lost interest in trying to get another deal. At that point, personnel changed, and the band went from original to cover, with the lineup above. Deni also went on to work with me with Danny Nova... Deni will be missed... He filled a lot of gaps we needed... Peace Deni... you’re home now...
