Farmers Daughter Originals The Farmers Daughter: I answered an ad. And it went like this. The band was not yet created when I answered the ad. I created it. The ad was from a singer/songwriter named Althea Rose. For my audition for Althea, she came to see a show of mine, and wanted to work with me immediately. We talked for a few weeks and decided to write together and then bring in some other members to form an entire band. My first pick was a Bass player, Steve Blaufeder, aka Steve Love. Steve and I fit together like a hand in a glove. We had no problem locking in together. This lineup remained a 3 piece for some time, doing cover gigs, and recording our creations. The guitar player thing was a challenge to find the right player. For the cover demo, it’s posted; the three of us played the necessary instruments to get the demo done. We used that to get local work, under the alias “Street Jam”. When it came to recording our original works, we visited some of the most popular and best equipped studios at that time. Some of the stuff was recorded at Unique Recording Studios in New York, engineered by our friend, Danny Beroff. Some tracks were recorded at Waterfront Studios in Hoboken, New Jersey, and then there were the sessions at the infamous TC Studios, owned by Tony Camillo, a life long friend of mine. His studio just happened to be in my home town at the time. |

Tony’s claim to fame is the Gladys Knight track, Midnight Train to Georgia. He recorded it in that studio and produced it. We had the most fun there. It was a small circle of musicians that hung out at Tony’s studio. We just had fun. We also did some tracks at a small home studio, owned and engineered by Danny Caruso. It was here that Steve Love introduced us to Anthony Krizan, Spin Doctors and many more. Anthony is one hell of a songwriter and let us record some of his stuff to help us out with our pending deal. Anthony also did the guitar tracks on some of the stuff. The credits to the individual songs are posted with the corresponding track. We eventually added Dan Wrobel, aka Deni Stevens. A very good friend of mine, who I met working with the David Tee Band. Deni went on to play with me in a version of the Danny Nova Band. Deni is no longer with us. The song, Remember These Days, on the Farmers Daughter Original section, features Deni on Guitar. R.I.P. Deni. So there you have a brief history of The Farmers Daughter. A great band with great songs, and a lot of fun to work with. The band is no longer active. Enjoy the tracks…………..Peace…Jeff! |
